A co-worker and I were having a conversation about a having a band together, and what it would be like if we did. We both decided it would be a rap-rock group, where I would play all of the instruments I know, and he would play the washboard. We weren't sure if it would be in the vein of classic groups such as Run DMC or the more modern styles of Linkin Park. Either way, I took things too far for an imaginary band and created this logo and a facebook page (feel free to like us: www.facebook.com/pages/VoodooG…;
"VoodooGypsy is a top-shelf rap-rock band from the great cities of Eugene and Springfield, Oregon comprised of the amazing duo of Jake Frantum and Camron Earl. Jake brings the fury with his impressive range on the washboard, while sometimes adding in the unexpected flourish of jug or trash can lids. Camron, while of far less skill, sticks mainly to the electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass, baritone ukulele, concert ukulele, clarineo, baritone recorder, concertina, melodica, jews harp, pan flute, otamatone, didgeridoo and ocarina. Both are adept in skill at the raps
Jake, born partially of voodoo magic grew up in La Grande, OR, which the ancient says stands for "The Grande," and is a classically trained washboard artist. Camron, fell from the back of a gypsy wagon, in Gilchrist, OR, and is not trained on any instruments. He is not an accredited zoologist, nor does he hold an advance degree in any of the environmental sciences"
